The Manager of Maintenance will have oversight of a team of associates tasked with achieving a standard of excellence in the completion of maintenance work orders associated with hotel guest rooms, common areas, and building systems.

The Manager will work closely Hotel Leadership in assuring timely identification and completion of maintenance work, and to oversee the property's preventative maintenance program including the performance of any subcontractors.


The Manager will be responsible to ensure adherence to established quality standards while also cultivating a culture of health & safety, positive communication, and fun.

They will also play a key role in fulfilling Blue Mountain's obligations under our Property Management Agreement with the Westin Condominium Corporation.

In addition to managing the day to day maintenance activities related to common areas and building systems, this responsibility also includes development, monitoring and variance reporting of the condominium corporation's maintenance budget, creation and presentation of quarterly physical plant updates to the board of directors including recommendation of maintenance projects, and supporting the execution of reserve fund capital projects.

WHAT WILL I BE DOING?**- Manage Associates to facilitate maintenance activity on a day-to-day basis, including the hotel's Rooms Preventative Maintenance (RPM) program, facility preventative maintenance program, reactive R&M, as well as property improvement projects.

  • Liaise with Manager of Building Services or outside contractors to arrange trade specific repairs when needed.
  • Monitor Work Orders and out of order room status and communicate timelines for repairs
  • Establish weekly work schedule and adjust to call offs, vacation requests, shortterm leaves, etc.
  • Liaise with homeowner services when in room repairs warrant owners approval.
  • Assist in the budget process for both BMR as well as the Westin condominium corporation.
  • Attend quarterly condo board meetings as a representative of the property manager, providing quarterly physical plant updates and recommendations for requirement maintenance or property improvements.
  • Ensure training requirements and certifications are current with all staff.
  • Ensure staff comply with health and safety standards and industry codes.
  • Liaise with various regulatory authorities such as Public Health and Fire Prevention.

WHAT DO WE NEED FROM YOU?

  • Proven ability to coach, develop, mentor and recognize Associates
  • Experience with rolling out and maintaining brand standards
  • Knowledge of building systems, preventative maintenance programs, inventory management, and general contracting
  • 23 years of experience in facilities/property management
  • FMC/FMA/RPA in progress will be highly coveted
  • Proficiency in various computer systems (MS Office, Property management systems, Lightspeed, Transcendent)
