JOB DESCRIPTION:
Master Scheduler
***:Reporting to the Materials Manager, the incumbent will coordinate, prepare, monitor, and support all levels of schedules. The incumbent will develop work breakdown structures and assign resources to each production activity, producing reports and analyses.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- To ensure the efficient utilization of equipment, material and manpower.
- To highlight problem areas during schedule updates so as to minimize schedule impacts and to permit workarounds.
- Maintaining and distribution of the production schedule.
- Communicate any delivery concerns to the Materials Manager.
- Communicate production schedule concerns to the rest of the team
- Engineering, Buyers, and Operations Manager to ensure appropriate labor, machine and scrap standards are considered in the master schedule.
- Issuing work orders complete with drawings.
- Identify bottleneck resources and communicate with the Materials Manager.
- Close daily communications with Materials Manager to ensure that production schedules are maintained.
- Tracking production.
- Utilization of Kanban to aid in scheduling in specific areas.
- Key individual in driving the systemic approach in Visual MFG for Production and Master scheduling.
- Assist in the setup of processes and procedures to streamline the production function.
- Coordinates with Sales, Inventory, Procurement, Production Control and Manufacturing to better understand lead times for master scheduled times, seeks ways to reduce internal lead times as well as lead times to the customer.
- Other duties as required.
Educational Requirements:
- Completion of secondary school or equivalent
- Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering, supply chain or business administration is considered an asset.
Required Skills & Expertise:
- Five or more years of experience in Production scheduling.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the production process including experience in shop routing, bills of material and work orders.
- Familiarity with inventory management, inventory analysis, and problemsolving techniques.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
- Prioritizing and multitasking skills.
- 5 years experience in a CNC machining and welding environment.
- Experience working with manufacturing software such as Visual, etc.
- Strong collaboration skills to liaison with Operations, Customer Service and Management.
