Summary:

Primary duty will be the collection of outstanding and overdue accounts. '


Responsibilities:


Required using various methods of doing skip traces, through the use of databases, search engines and established contacts in the community.

Meeting with patient families, guarantors within the hospital.
Collections will be for both local and out of country accounts.
Dealing with payment plan's under the direction of Manager.
Will require knowledge of small claims courts, court proceedings, forms and fees for accounts that required legal action.
Will work closely with Paralegal services as required.
Meeting targets and find ways to collect outstanding accounts
Contribute to ensuring there is a safe environment for patients, staff and visitors


Qualifications:


  • Post secondary education in accounting preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years prior collection experience required.
  • Previous OHIP/Accounts Receivable experience required
  • Knowledge of Privacy Act required
  • Excellent data entry and keyboard skills
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize duties
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required
  • Proficient in MSWord, Excel, Outlook
  • Prior experience with STAR preferred
  • Strong knowledge of Collection Agency Act preferred and interaction with them
  • Prior Customer Service experience and negotiation skills required
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
