About this opportunity

Reporting to the Logistics Supervisor, the Receiving Material Handler will be responsible for the seamless processing of outgoing and incoming shipments, perform any and all tasks deemed necessary including but not limited to operating a variety of hand and power tools, equipment and machinery.

The incumbent must understand the impact of this position to other business functions that depend on the accuracy and efficiency of outgoing items.

Inventory management and vendor relations with shipping companies are essential functions for this position.

What you will do

Clerical/Administrative Tasks:

  • Manage, review, and match invoices/purchase orders (PO's) in a timely manner;
  • Communicate with department managers to receive confirmation on purchase orders;
  • Review invoices in error, and follow up with internal customers;
  • Verify any invoicing discrepancies from accounting;
  • Scheduling deliveries: Follow up on deliveries or P.O.'s with carriers, compare delivery schedule to production schedule to ensure deliveries are met or "just in time";
  • Manage receiving documents and keep them in an organized system; filing and storage;
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, with concentration Outlook and familiar with receiving functions (i.e entering P.O.'s, creating labels for inventory items);
  • Assisting in receiving/scanning paper and sheets into Logic and eventually Pace.

Material Handling:

  • Manage stock Returns to vendor and communications;
  • Monthly loading dock audits for preventative maintenance and safety;
  • Directing and coordination of drivers appropriately;
  • Inputting small courier packages into Web based notification system upon arrival to the facility delivering small packages to various areas in the plant;
  • Loading and unloading trucks/trailers of raw stock, corrugate and supplies as needed. Must have experience on counterbalance propane and rider pallet jack lift equipment, previous use of clamp on lift equipment an asset;
  • Delivering materials to appropriate drop zone throughout the facility while following health and safety procedures for material movement;
  • Available for overtime in order to meet our customer needs as required;
  • Support and contribute to a healthy and safe work environment by following all workplace regulations, policies, and initiatives, including reporting all first aid injuries, accidents, and workplace hazards.
  • Assisting and providing materials for production
  • Inventory count on a monthly basis
  • Maintain an organized work area according to policies, procedures and safety regulations

What you have to offer

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent;
  • A minimum of two (2) years' experience in a similar role within a manufacturing environment in print is preferred;
  • Must hold a valid Forklift operation certificate in good standing, where equipment certification is required;
  • Ability to lift heavy objects (max. 50 lbs), walk and stand for long periods of time and perform strenuous physical labour;
  • Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written;
  • Proven organizational skills;
  • Commitment to quality and safety;
  • Able to work well in a team environment;
  • Must be able to work overtime and weekends as required.
