Purpose:

To coordinate and supervise warehouse activities to achieve total customer satisfaction consistent with good business practices. Initiate and complete process improvement tasks in the warehouse to align with the business objectives.


Responsibilities:


  • Supervise and organize tasks of warehouse support employees. Perform ongoing department inspections to verify timeliness, accuracy and quality of service.
  • Coordinate the maintenance and safety check of all forklifts and warehouse equipment.
  • Set schedules of warehouse staff and procedures to meet local service requirements.
  • Communicate with Customer Service Manager and sales representatives to address and resolve customer service concerns and claims, as well as provide notification for possible delays or variances.
  • Supervise warehouse personnel including delegation, training and other administrative duties.
  • Ensure adherence by team members of corporate and departmental policies and procedures; drive individual accountability for members of the team through leading by example.
  • Responsible for prompt shipment of customer orders, efficient warehouse operations and good housekeeping.
  • Manage the reception, handling, distribution and storage of all product and supplies that come in and out of the warehouse.
  • Enforce corporate policies regarding security and safety in order to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Ensure all orders are shipped to customers in a timely manner in adherence to delivery schedules.
  • Plan warehouse layout and space requirements in order to prevent loss or damage and to achieve full warehouse optimization.
  • Identify discrepancies between inventory records and take action.
  • Other duties as may apply.

Qualifications:


  • Minimum Grade 12 education; however, preference will be given to individuals with a university or technical education background.
  • One to three years of warehouse supervising and inventory management preferred.
  • Proven excellence in leadership and process efficiencies.
  • Broad knowledge of Company's products, services and operations.
  • Understanding and commitment to Company quality goals and standards.
  • Able to build and maintain lasting relationships with corporate departments, key business partners and customers.
  • Excellent communication skills and leadership skills required.
  • Excellent conflict resolution skills, diplomacy and tact.
  • Excellent planning and resource allocation skills.
  • Competent with computers and various operating systems.
  • Ability to handle customer complaints and mediate customer disputes.
  • Ability to do light to moderate lifting (up to 60 lbs).
  • Familiarity with safety procedures in the workplace.
  • Must demonstrate honesty and integrity.
  • Above average organizational skills.
  • Willingness to go the extra mile.
