The Opportunity
We are currently seeking a
Plant Leader to join our
Rosenort, MB facility.

It is a 200,000 ft2, 500+ staff vertically integrated facility that includes lasers and brake-press equipment for fabrication, manual and robotic welding, powder coat painting, assembly, and shipping departments.

We are seeking a strong leader to guide the facility and employees through transformational change and growth


The Team
The role will report directly to the Sr. Director, Manufacturing (Canada).

The Plant Leader will work closely with the AGI safety, production, manufacturing, engineering, materials management, logistics, procurement, and product quality teams.


Responsibilities:


  • Proactively work to maintain safe and healthy working conditions, to adhere to proper operating practices and procedures designed to prevent injury and illness and to observe all governmental, regional and company safety and health regulations.
  • Operational planning and action implementation to meet yearly business goals and longerterm strategic targets.
  • Chair weekly planning and monitoring sessions between production and Sales Execution to ensure customer ontime weekly delivery targets are met.
  • Communicate and provide leadership to ensure achievement of plant objectives, accountable for daily activities to ensure high performance and production at all times. Delivering good quality product, safely, on time and to cost, including availability of raw materials (MRP), production, inventory, and shipping.
  • Lead and coordinate ideation and execution of operational projects to reduce COGS and consistently expand margin year over year.
  • Actively participate in weekly Lean, Safety, Human Resource, and Quality improvement sessions
  • Provide direction, development and leadership to management and supervisory staff.
  • Responsible for implementation of the AGI Business Operating System.
  • Constantly strive to reduce costs via OPEX / Lean / cost reduction / process improvement activities, be a lean champion and a lean 'cheerleader'. Demonstrate Lean Leadership educate, ask questions, drive implementation, and conduct weekly Gemba walks. Develop/maintain positive employee relations & resolution of employee concerns.
  • Ensure that all company policies and procedures are followed including environmental and social governance.
  • Fully align to the Corporate and Business Strategic Plans and Objectives, and build the annual manufacturing budget, track performance and update forecasts as needed. Represent the plant in Monthly Ops Reviews.
  • Run a SIOP (S&OP) process to align with Sales. Work cross functionally with Product Management, Engineering, Sales Execution, and Supply Chain.
  • Travel to jobsites or AGI manufacturing centers when necessary.

Qualifications

  • University degree in engineering/agriculture/commerce degree or equivalent experience.
  • Significant manufacturing industry background, preferably in steel fabrication.
  • 10+ years' experience in a Senior Production or Operations Management role.
  • Knowledge / experience with material handling product lines.
  • Experience/understanding of Lean manufacturing & Continuous Improvement processes.
  • An effective communicator, leader and trainer who can work with all levels of management and nonsupervisory employees to execute the responsibilities of this role.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and problemsolving ability.
  • Ability to own personal development and gain an understanding of the equipment that we manufacture, how it is produced and why designs are made the way they are.
  • Ability to think analytically and make accurate and timely decisions.
  • Highly organized with excellent time management skills.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment, initiative, and a strong work ethics.
  • Strong team player.
  • Keen attention to detail.
