    Why You?

    We are looking for a dynamic and forward-thinking individual to join the InnServices team as the Compliance & Risk Specialist In this role, you will maintain and implement best practice risk and compliance frameworks to meet regulatory and corporate requirements for Water and Wastewater in accordance with the Ministry of Environment, Conservation and Parks (MECP) and the Drinking Water Quality Management System (DWQMS).

    Working collaboratively across our partner organizations, the Compliance & Risk Specialist will work under the direction of the Compliance Manager to oversee all areas of compliance related to water and wastewater operations, and will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring that the Utility's risks and compliance obligations are identified and assessed and adequate controls are in place to ensure ongoing risk mitigation and compliance.
  • Developing the risk and compliance strategies and plans and facilitating the implementation across the organization under the guidance and direction of the Compliance Manager.
  • Assisting in developing and implementing education programs to support the maintenance of a business culture that values risk and compliance.
  • Acting in the capacity of Quality Coordinator (QC), and completing all tasks required of the QC identified for the respective Quality Management System (QMS) in water and wastewater.
  • Submitting Adverse Water Quality Incident (AWQI) reports, based on water and wastewater quality testing results and other reportable instances that may occur; reviewing reports from SCADA and summarizing KPIs for monthly operations reporting.
  • Job Requirements

    The ideal candidate holds:

  • Post-Secondary Education in Engineering, Environmental Science, or Legal fields.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of demonstrated work experience in Water/Wastewater system management and/or operational regulatory compliance, preferably in a municipal environment.
  • Legal background in Regulatory, Risk or Compliance is considered an asset.
  • Experience working with and developing Quality Management Systems is considered an Asset, as is the ability to read and interpret legislation and regulations and apply them to the requirements of a Quality Management System.
  • Valid Class G level drivers licence and reliable vehicle to use on corporate business is required.
