Established in 1979, Toro Aluminum has become a leader in the development and manufacturing of window walls and doors for high-rise condominiums, office buildings and hotels, across Canada, the United States, and Mexico.
REPORTING
The Cutting Table Breakout Helper reports to the Production Supervisor of Protemp Glass Inc. The working hours are Monday - Thursday 4:30pm-2:30am.
RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Review customer orders and pick glass
- Load glass onto cutting tables/machines
- Cut glass to particular size and shape using hand tools and machines
- Assist colleagues with loading/unloading glass
- Assist other departments as necessary
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must have 35 years of experience as a glass cutter
- Ability to cut special pieces, interpret drawings and cut patterns from templates
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Strong ability to work independently and as a member of a team
- Excellent organizational and problem solving skills
- Superb time management skills
- Ability to read in Metric and Imperial

QUALIFICATIONS
- Two years related experience and/or training in the aluminum/glass industry; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ontario Secondary School Graduation Diploma.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical and organization skills.
- Strong organization and attention to detail skills.
- Ability to read and interpret shop drawings.
