Overview:
Complete Biodiversity Indicator and Reporting System (BIRS) Assessments for all aggregate sites in Eastern Ontario and Quebec.


Responsibilities:


Site Visits

  • Coordinate site visits
  • Travel to sites and complete BIRS Checklists for applicable areas of the site in coordination with site representative

Review

  • Review BIRS Checklists prepare Assessment Reports
  • Track progress on execution of BIRS Assessments

Report

  • Finalize BIRS Assessments and post documents to Google Drive.

Projects

  • Special projects will be defined to enable achievement of environmental goals

Projects include:

  • Biodiversity Indicator and Reporting System (BIRS) Assessments

Relationship with Others

  • Incumbent will communicate with the Environment & Public Affairs team; Cement, Aggregate Operations Teams and will work with the Manager, Environment & Public Affairs and Director, Environment & Public Affairs.

Specific Accountabilities:


  • Site visits to complete BIRS Checklists/Assessments.

Dimensions:


  • Reports to Senior Manager, Environment & Public Affairs.

Qualifications:

  • Postsecondary degree in Environmental Studies or the equivalent of education and experience.
  • Technical knowledge required to complete BIRS Checklists/Assessments.
  • Must be French/English bilingual.
  • Adequate fitness to complete site visits (walking over uneven terrain).
  • Must have a valid Drivers License and a vehicle.
