Overview:
Complete Biodiversity Indicator and Reporting System (BIRS) Assessments for all aggregate sites in Eastern Ontario and Quebec.
Responsibilities:
Site Visits
- Coordinate site visits
- Travel to sites and complete BIRS Checklists for applicable areas of the site in coordination with site representative
Review
- Review BIRS Checklists prepare Assessment Reports
- Track progress on execution of BIRS Assessments
Report
- Finalize BIRS Assessments and post documents to Google Drive.
Projects
- Special projects will be defined to enable achievement of environmental goals
Projects include:
- Biodiversity Indicator and Reporting System (BIRS) Assessments
Relationship with Others
- Incumbent will communicate with the Environment & Public Affairs team; Cement, Aggregate Operations Teams and will work with the Manager, Environment & Public Affairs and Director, Environment & Public Affairs.
Specific Accountabilities:
- Site visits to complete BIRS Checklists/Assessments.
Dimensions:
- Reports to Senior Manager, Environment & Public Affairs.
Qualifications:
- Postsecondary degree in Environmental Studies or the equivalent of education and experience.
- Technical knowledge required to complete BIRS Checklists/Assessments.
- Must be French/English bilingual.
- Adequate fitness to complete site visits (walking over uneven terrain).
- Must have a valid Drivers License and a vehicle.
