Telecon is looking to bring on an energetic and motivated individual who is willing to be trained and build a career in the field of Directional Drilling.

In addition to full on-the-job training, the Company is committed to working with you to help you get the appropriate license for the position

As a Directional Driller you will be responsible to drive the support vehicle (s) used to transport this equipment to various project sites and once on site operate and locate the Directional Drill for the successful execution of projects.

Responsibilities:

Learn to load and unload directional drill equipment in a manner that is secure and damage free
Transport associated tools, materials and/or equipment in a safe manner
Learn to complete a daily inspection on equipment prior to commencing work
Learn to prepare the drill fluid based on site conditions prior to boring commencing
Learn to work in conjunction with locator to operate the directional drill using the selected bore heads and back reamers to place cables and / or duct
Learn to troubleshoot any equipment issues and relay to service technician for assistance or resolution
Learn to operate the drill locater as required
Other duties as required

Qualifications:

-
Previous experience operating construction/heavy machinery or equipment is strongly preferred (i.e.

mechanically inclined):
-
Valid G license (or greater) with a good driver's abstract:

Previous experience working around existing buried utilities an asset.
Good communication skills with the ability to work in a team environment
Must be able to lift 23 kg (50 lbs)
Must provide a clean driving record (abstract) and criminal check prior to employment commencing
Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
Demonstrated commitment to health and safety and willing to receive applicable Health and Safety training as per legislative and job requirements.
