What is Required for the Position
- DZ License. AZ license is an asset.
- 5+ years of floating driving experience.
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations, load securement practices, and transportation laws relevant to float driving.
- Clean drivers abstract, and clean criminal search.
- Experience in the construction industry is considered an asset.
- Be comfortable working outside in all weather conditions.
- Good communication skills
The Job
As an Earth Boring Float Driver, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of various types of equipment and machinery on a float trailer.
You will work in collaboration with others in maintaining equipment in good working order and openly communicate with the team to coordinate work activities.
The Tasks
- Safely transport equipment and machinery to and from designated locations using a float trailer.
- Ensure proper loading and unloading of materials from various locations.
- Ensure that all necessary permits, licenses, and paperwork are obtained and maintained for the transportation of oversized loads, complying with applicable laws and regulations.
- Coordinate routes to maximize fuel and minimize downtime.
- Perform pretrip inspection of vehicle systems and equipment such as tires, lights and breaks, etc.
- Monitor and maintain the cleanliness and overall condition of the float trailer, performing routine maintenance and reporting any mechanical issues or damage.
- Plan your trip according to the weather conditions.
- Follow safety procedures for transporting materials.
- Maintain Logbooks according to rules and regulations.
- Additional duties may be required.
