The Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry is the largest Faculty on campus and employs over 2,000 part-time and full-time faculty and over 1,200 staff.


Responsibilities:


The Engagement Coordinator will be responsible for supporting the Office of the Dean and Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) within the Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry by scheduling executive and committee meetings, coordinating communication requirements, and managing their daily and long-range calendar.

The role will prioritize responses to inquiries on behalf of the CAO, responding directly or redirecting to other resources as appropriate.

The Engagement Coordinator will facilitate administrative responsibilities of the CAO's day-to-day activities, including developing drafts of reports and correspondence.

The role will organize and track all requests for the CAO's time, and ensure they have all relevant information at-hand to support their activities.


Qualifications:


  • Education:
  • 3 year Community College Diploma in Administration or Business
  • Experience:
  • 5 years experience providing administrative support to a senior leader in an academic environment
  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Knowledge of general office procedures and of best practices in records maintenance
  • Competency to maintain confidentiality and treat sensitive information with discretion
  • Knowledge of event management techniques and tools and with project management methodologies
  • Ability to collaborate and develop effective relationships with a wide variety of individuals
  • Communication skills to write clearly, and adapt communication style and content for intended audiences in a professional manner
  • Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to follow formal business practices with high attention to detail
  • A welldefined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to plan, prioritize and manage, multiple concurrent assignments, events and tasks efficiently
  • Ability to work independently and exercise a high degree of initiative, innovation and good judgment in decisionmaking
  • Ability to interact professionally with students, staff, faculty, and other members of the University community
  • Ability to create a positive impression while interacting with others and responding to inquiries, by telephone, in person or electronically
