This position will be stationed at our Richmond, BC location and will be reporting to Head Office.

Job Summary


HR & Administration Assistant is to provide support and assistance to HR/Admin and the NECA employees for various duties and tasks.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Timely response to management and employee inquiries
  • Assist with the recruitment and selection process of new hires, posting ads, screening resumes, interviewing, arranging reference checks and criminal background checks
  • Prepare offer letters and contracts, and organize new hire documentation
  • Create new hire's WFN accounts
  • Administration of employee ID badges
  • Administration of the new hire orientation program, including content, preparation of documents, presentation
  • Assist with the performance evaluation process
  • Assist with company benefits programs, prepare requisition for monthly invoices
  • Prepare and distribute company communications (memos, announcements)
  • Assist with employee disciplinary process, terminations and conduct exit interviews
  • Assist with employee relations, investigations and resolution of complaints
  • Assist with submitting injury claim reports to Worker's Compensation Board
  • Supplies/Purchasing purchase office supplies, forms and other items as required
  • Request business cards for new employees, updates to business cards, and replenishment
  • Communication and adhoc reporting to head quarters
  • Various other tasks that may be required

Qualifications

  • 12 years of experience in a similar role,
  • Strong knowledge of payroll legislation and employment standards and the ability to enforce laws, rules and regulations
  • Strong experience with MS Word, Excel, Power point, and payroll programs
  • Basic math and accounting skills
  • Effective communication, organization and time management skills
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks
  • Ability to remain objective in stressful situations
  • High level of sound and independent judgment, reasoning and discretion
  • Professional, responsible, and positive work attitude.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
