  • What you'd be responsible for
  • Providing input to the Manager, Learning & Development with respect to the business plans and directions for the team.
  • Developing modern learning products, programs, and materials tailored to various audiences, while ensuring alignment with legislative and corporate standards, and EPCOR's compliance and conformance training requirements.
  • Analyzing and evaluating requirements to determine appropriate training solutions to meet the learning needs of varied audiences.
  • Presenting technical information in a clear and concise manner based on the audience; facilitating and coordinating content reviews; editing documents following standards and company branding as required.
  • Designing, researching, and writing operational procedures and other documentation for EPCOR business units.
  • Consulting and collaborating with SMEs to develop learning solutions designed to support and improve worker competency; utilizing job task analysis, worker observation, and effective SME consultation to design and develop assessments that provide assurance of worker competency.
  • Managing and utilizing a project management framework to design documentation outlining the stakeholder objectives, learning objectives, storyboard/content outline, and technical/online learning strategy to achieve stakeholder requirements.
  • Assisting, reviewing, and evaluating the development of internal processes, procedures, templates, standards, branding guidelines, and best practices for designing and developing learning products.
  • Creating and maintaining information on internal SharePoint sites and related intranet sites.
  • What's required to be successful
  • Two year Post-Secondary Diploma in the area of Education, Instructional Design, Training and Development, Communications, Marketing, or film/TV/digital media is required.
  • 4+ years of experience in designing, developing, and maintaining learning products (both online and instructorled) and procedures is required.
  • Valid Class 5 Alberta Motor Vehicle Operator's License (with 6 or fewer demerits).
  • Local travel between sites will be required.
  • Experience and competency in developing training and instructional materials for adult learners; producing technical documents that meet learning objectives; reviewing documentation; producing materials in accordance with set standards, guidelines, and templates; collaborating with internal customers and facilitating stakeholder interactions; and defining and following documentation standards and adult learning principles.
  • Experience writing, filming and editing training videos, designing infographics and learning products and photography skillet is desired.
  • Experience working in a complex utility, regulated environment and/or construction industry is desired.
  • Experience in adult education principles, classroom delivery, and facilitation is an asset.
  • Experience developing training materials (both online and instructorled) related to health, safety, environment, and operations is an asset.
  • Experience with video and audio editing suites, and Articulate 360, Vyond, Adobe Creative Suite, is required or an equivalent suite of eLearning and graphics editing products.
  • Intermediate knowledge and use of learning management systems including Oracle.
  • Knowledge and use of Audacity, Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Illustrator and Microsoft Visio considered an asset.
  • Familiarity with digital photo and video camera use, and associated hardware and software.
  • Advanced communication skills, including superior writing, proofreading, and editorial skills; prioritization skills; planning and organization skills; attention to detail.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office Suite, including SharePoint skills.
