Cook - Seasonal Part-time
Position Summary:
The Royal Ottawa Golf Club has an exciting opportunity for a Cook to join the Royal team. The Cook will act as a key member of the Kitchen team.
Reporting to the SousChef and Executive Chef, the Cook will be responsible for preparing and delivering on all aspects of the Clubs meal production.
The Cook plays a leading role in the Kitchen as they ensure quick and accurate delivery of all food orders.
The position requires an immense work ethic, professionalism, and is ideal an established cook looking to further their career in the industry.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for all aspects of food preparation within the kitchen;
- Cleans and maintains their stations as well as kitchen equipment and utensils;
- Maintain food in clean and hygienic conditions to prevent spoilage;
- Inspect deliveries for quality and weight prior to acceptance;
- Inspect, clean and maintain work areas in cold storage and dry goods area;
- Collaborate on new menus by offering ideas and contributing to specials;
- Performs other related duties as required.
Qualifications:
- Ability to cook, prepare sauces, pasta and soups for small and large groups;
- Ability to prepare a large variety of meats as well as large roasts;
- Knowledge of the preparation and presentation of fish and accompanying sauces;
- Knowledge of the preparation and presentation of vegetables;
- Ability to determine the quantities of food to prepare based on the size of the group;
- Solid understanding of Health and Safety procedures.
