People, Engagement & Learning Recruitment Specialist - Full Time, Permanent
Located in Vancouver or Toronto, with remote possible

We are made up of two legal charitable entities:

MakeWay Charitable Society, a shared platform home to over 65+ innovative community-led projects staffed by 170+ change makers; and MakeWay Foundation where about 75 people are advancing place-based programs that support Indigenous-led solutions and conservation in the North, Pacific, Manitoba, and beyond via grant-making, funder collaboratives and other tools.

What You'll Do:

Work collaboratively with hiring managers to determine role requirements, job descriptions, and sourcing strategies
Provides guidance on recruitment related matters in accordance with MakeWay values and processes
Participates in process improvements and lead in designing and implementing a hiring process to reflect broader hiring equity strategies
Effectively manages recruitment processes in a timely manner and provides frequent updates to hiring managers and feedback and report backs to the PEL team
Performs other duties as required

Who You Are:

Collaborative: You have the ability to work independently and as a part of the broader People, Engagement and Learning team to ensure a thorough and comprehensive approach to recruitment
Organized: You are able to balance multiple open positions and processes all while providing excellent care and timely communication
Proactive: You take initiative and bring forward ideas for improvements. No job is too big or small.
Professional: You are able to maintain strict standards of confidentiality, awareness, and sensitivity throughout

Experience You Bring:

Alignment with the values of MakeWay
A deep understanding of DEI principles in recruitment
Experience with all aspects of full cycle recruitment ideally within a national organization
Experience in the charitable/nonprofit sector
Strong experience with Microsoft Office Suite

It Would be a Bonus if You Have:

Background in HR or CPHR designation
Experience working with an Applicant Tracking System

Salary of $60, ,238 (dependent on experience)

Three weeks' vacation plus statutory holidays. MakeWay has implemented a Substitution Statutory Holiday policy which allows employees the flexibility to substitute another day for a statutory holiday. In addition, the MakeWay office is closed annually for a winter holiday break.
