Bilingual Payroll Specialist

New Glasgow, NS (Hybrid)

Michelin North America (Canada) Inc., which employs 3,600 people and operates three tire manufacturing facilities in Nova Scotia, is seeking a bilingual (French/English) Payroll Specialist with
_extensive knowledge of Quebec payroll_, to join its Canadian Payroll Team.


The Payroll Specialist administers Michelin's remuneration policies and practices for calculation, processing and production of employee pay in an accurate a timely manner, while maintaining compliance with established payroll practices, company policies, applicable laws, and regulatory requirements.


Responsibilities include:
- review and verify payroll documentation, communicate with employees, supervisors and human resources regarding queries;
- calculate and process employee pay, perform leave calculations, remit and/or reconcile payroll deductions, issue vacation payout, and process benefit or other premiums/deductions as well as records of employment;
- guarantee adherence with payroll and accounting principles, practices and standards;
- communicate information clearly and concisely to both internal and external partners, ensuring confidentiality; and,
- assist with projects, support knowledge sharing and exchange and best practices with team members.


Requirements:


  • Bilingual in French and English,
  • Bachelor's degree or completion of a diploma program in Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources or related field;
  • 4 years (min) experience processing Canadian payroll, _specifically Quebec_;
- proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel;
- experience with ADP, Work Force Now, is an asset but not required; and,

  • NPI certification is preferred but not required.
This position allows for a hybrid model of on-site and remote work, following completion of training.
