VitalAire empowers patients who have sleep apnea or require home oxygen therapy through ongoing respiratory support and compliance.
VitalAire is currently recruiting a highly energetic and motivated Client Service Technician for our New Glasgow, NS branch.


The Client Service Technician (CST) transports, delivers, and installs homecare equipment (including oxygen cylinders) to patients and institutions while maintaining safe operation of the company vehicle and providing outstanding customer service.

The CST delivers quality patient care by educating patients on the proper use, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the equipment.

  • Contributes to team effort by supporting other team members to satisfy both internal and external customers.
  • Contributes to a safe working environment by participating in safety meetings and initiatives, working in a safe manner and encouraging others to do so, and reporting unsafe occurrences and/or practices.
  • Complies with organizational vehicle policies and procedures, and highway rules and regulations. Ensures safe supply of gases to clients homes and transporting medical gases according to procedures and regulations.
  • Inspects vehicle before and after use; documents inspection. Maintains a clean vehicle and ensures it is stocked with necessary personal protective equipment (PPE), safety equipment, tools, and other supplies.
  • Ensures correct loading of vehicle by identifying product requirements for the day/week, and unloading product or material in compliance with safety and legislative requirements.
  • Meets client needs by delivering products according to schedule and as required.
  • Sets up homecare equipment at patients' home, provides training to new clients and responds to requests from current clients. Provides client education on equipment function, maintenance, and troubleshooting. Performs technical checks and reviews safety instructions with clients. Maintains uptodate documentation by completing appropriate records for technical visits including equipment exchanges, deliveries, and pickup of equipment.
  • Ensures operation of medical equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements; following manufacturers' instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; in the event that the work required exceeds the qualifications or abilities of the CST, they should manage the downstream workflow, which may involve sending the equipment back to the manufacturer or internal service center, and handling the required documentation.
  • Performs warehouse duties in the branches they cover by stocking shelves with supplies, shipping and receiving of products, and equipment cleaning and disinfection of patient equipment.
  • Documents client care and services by completing clear, accurate and timely delivery records.
  • Complies with applicable certification requirements and makes recommendations to management on needed actions.
  • Provides after hour service to clients by participating in branch oncall rotation.
  • Collaborate with the clinical team to ensure the effective use of product and treatment.
  • You may be required to perform the role of quality control designate or alternate and complete tasks related to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) for the handling of medical gases, such as the review and sign off of quality records. All necessary training for this role is referenced in Quality Designate Training Matrix, HRM0003, and must be completed prior to performing the activities

  • High School Diploma and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 23 years of consecutive recent driving/delivery experience
  • 23 years Customer service experience
  • Clean and valid driver's abstract
  • Strong written and oral communication skills (verbal and written) in English
  • Basic computer / tablet skills
  • Knowledge of use and maintenance of respiratory home care equipment preferred; ability and willingness to learn and understand homecare equipment used by patients
  • Basic mechanical/repair skills
  • Ability to lift and maneuver 22Kgs (50 pounds) unassisted on a regular basis
