Reporting directly to the Retail Manager, the BOH/Building Maintenance Associate's primary role is to support the retail department with day-to-day needs and take responsibility for smooth BOH operations, consisting of weekly transfers and assisting with customer pickups in a quick, helpful, and professional manner.

In addition, a portion of the job include assisting the head office with some maintenance, repairs, food pickups, or other duties required by the management team.


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Receive store transfers, unpack, and assemble new product, and place on floor as instructed.
  • Efficiently retrieve and securely package purchased items from the showroom, providing valuable assistance during customer pickups to ensure satisfaction.
  • Assist the retail team with showroom maintenance including hanging rugs and artwork, taping down rugs, adjusting and replacing lighting, and restocking shelves as needed.
  • Remove old screws and nails and retouch walls to keep showroom in excellent condition
  • Track dock inventory and sold items and uphold the organization of the backofhouse area to facilitate seamless operations.
  • Assist retail team in relocation and assembly of furniture throughout the showroom
  • Proactively manage waste disposal and recycling efforts, diligently clearing debris from the parking lot to uphold the store's pristine appearance and safety standards
  • Assist with various duties to upkeep and maintain the head office space including building/rearranging desks and performing general maintenance tasks as needed
  • Proactively monitor weather forecasts and promptly address potential hazards caused by ice or snow in the parking lot, implementing effective measures such as salting pathways and clearing snow accumulation to ensure a safe pathway for employees and customers
  • Run errands as needed including Costco supplies run, food order pickups, etc.
  • Assist with preparation for on location events including external customer events, holiday parties, employee BBQ's and happy hours.
  • Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned by the store manager and head office department as needed.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:


  • High school diploma required.
  • Must have a valid drivers license and access to a vehicle.
  • Selfsufficient and selfmotivated, organized, and able to work in a fastpaced environment with little help or supervision; must be comfortable and able to work independently and take ownership of his/her tasks.
  • Strong verbal communication skills in English.
  • Team player with an upbeat and helpful attitude.
  • Enjoys the challenge of multitasking.
  • Ability to lift to 100lbs (dollies and tools are provided).
  • Customer service experience is an asset.
  • 1+ years of experience as a Warehouse Associate or General Labour.

The Salary range for this role is: $45,000 - $50,000 per year
