Heavy Equipment Field Service Technician - Ottawa, Canada - R.W. Tomlinson Limited
Description
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Servicing and repairing of all heavy equipment in construction and quarry sites
- Performing diagnostic testing to identify the malfunction as well as postrepair testing to ensure it was successful
- Able to complete repairs to manufacturers' specifications and legislated requirements
- Communicate successfully with the operators of the heavy equipment, potentially providing preventative advice or further instruction
- Preparation of accurate written repair order sheets and reports
- Interpretation of service manuals, schematics, lube charts, repair orders, etc.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Must be available to work extended hours and be oncall for onsite repairs
- Work successfully and efficiently with mínimal supervision
EXPERIENCE
- At least 5 years' experience, ideally with mechanic's license
- 421A Mechanic certification is required
- Experience with gasoline and diesel equipment, specifically Caterpillar
- Safety training and experience is an asset
