The Aqua Life Swim Academy is seeking an experienced Aquatics Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of our swim academy.

The incumbent will be responsible for the implementation of all aquatic programs and services in a safe and efficient way, through the coordination of required human and material resources.

The Aquatics Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring the development, promotion, implementation and evaluation of Aqua Life's programs and services.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Effectively hires, trains, supervises and evaluates assigned staff in the program area.
  • Promotes through positive leadership, an environment of continuous learning, development and aquatic service excellence
  • Continuously evaluates aquatic program quality to ensure that a high standard is achieved and is delivered consistently.
  • Provides leadership and direction to develop an innovative aquatic program
  • Reviews and approves employee timesheets and oversees, jointly with the Operations Manager, the scheduling of staff
  • Ensures that all staff are qualified and trained in program delivery and have the skills required to deliver an outstanding program
  • Coordinates the planning and delivery of staff training and assists in developing and implementing policies and procedures. Conduct inservice training together with Head Instructors
  • Responsible for monitoring swimming and pool equipment, ensuring proper placement and availability in the pool area
  • Perform administrative tasks to support program delivery
  • Availability to travel to Aqua Life pool locations across Ontario
  • Able to meet deadlines, prioritize workload and manage multiple projects at the same time.

Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree in Recreation/Business Management, Kinesiology, Sport Management
  • Minimum of 2 years of work experience in an aquatic setting in a supervisory role such as Head Instructor, Head Lifeguard or Competitive Swim Coach
  • Minimum 10 years experience working in aquatics as a swim instructor, lifeguard or program coordinator
  • Experience developing and creating aquatic programs geared toward kids and adults.
  • Valid Standard First Aid and CPR-C certification
  • Valid Lifesaving Swim Instructor certification
  • Valid National Lifeguard certification
  • Bronze Cross and National Lifeguard Examiner in progress or attained. Willingness to attain advanced certification under the Lifesaving Society is required.
  • Proficient with a high degree of accuracy with Microsoft Office Suite Software & Google Docs
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
  • Satisfactory and current Criminal Records Check (CRC) with vulnerable sector check.
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license

Location:


Hybrid - The primary office location is in Ottawa, but the Aquatic Supervisor has to be willing to work in various pool locations across Ontario and their home office.
