THE ROLE

The Social Media Specialist plans, develops, publishes and measures social media content (text, visuals, photo, videos) across a variety of platforms and ensure content aligns with the social media strategy and business goals.

They conduct social media research and make recommendations to maximize the social media strategy. They develop, edit, and publish social media content across a variety of platforms.

They develop and maintain a social media content calendar, establish presence on social media by maintaining relationships via communications/interactions with followers.

They provide recommendations on new initiatives or emerging social media opportunities to build brand awareness, grow engagement, and achieve business goals.


QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED Education, Certifications and Licenses**High school diploma AND several years of experience in graphic design, commercial art or graphic communications including multimedia


Experience

  • In Media Access Control (MAC) troubleshooting
  • In planning, organizing, developing, delivering, and evaluating social media opportunities and initiatives
  • In social media platforms and trends
  • In graphic design using Content Management System (CMS) platforms
  • In sending fullprocess colour, digital pages to press
  • In the marketing of community programs and services
  • In creating and managing webpages
  • In design and photoediting software
