The Laundry Attendant contributes to the overall success of the hotel by fulfilling Coast's expectations of superior customer service and quality standards of cleanliness by ensuring adequate supplies of clean linens and related items are available for distribution at the hotel.


Daily Responsibilities:


  • Reviews laundry needs with the Housekeeping Supervisor at the beginning of every shift.
  • Replenishes stock and cleans & presses room linens, by picking up, washing, drying and folding linens, towels, bathrobes, and banquet linens according to Coast Hotels efficiency and cleanliness standards.
  • May wash and prepare uniforms for ambassadors, and separate out any soiled, torn or badly worn linen for possible discard.
  • Cleans backofhouse areas of the property including all laundry areas and housekeeping closets and reports any deficiencies to the housekeeping manager as well as inputs appropriate work orders for janitorial and maintenance.
  • Stocks supplies and maintains inventory levels within the assigned area. Informs the Executive Housekeeper or Supervisor of any shortages.
  • Responds to Room Attendants requests for deliveries of linens.
  • Works within WHMIS guidelines for the safe handling of laundry and other cleaning chemicals.
  • Acts as an ambassador, including making guests feel welcome and handling basic inquiries.
  • Maintain a welcoming and friendly environment for guests and fellow ambassadors.
  • Other duties as assigned and required by the Executive Housekeeper and the Housekeeping Supervisor.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience:


  • Is committed to working safely, including adherence to safety regulations, the use of PPE, and hygiene and cleanliness.
  • Physical requirements include the ability to lift, push and pull a minimum of 40 pounds, to stand and/or walk for an extended period of time, ability to stoop, kneel and reach, or perform repetitive foot and hand actions, and the ability to bend at the waist.
  • Attention to detail: working carefully to make sure nothing is missed.
  • Good time management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with a digital ticketing system to inform other departments of guest or hotel needs.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule which includes evenings, weekends and holidays.
