Job Summary
We are looking for qualified professionals to teach part-time in our Office Administration program at our Fennell Campus in-person.
We are looking for expertise in the following areas:
- Medical Transcription techniques
- Medical grammar and spelling
- Webpage Design
- MS Word, MS Excel, MS, Access, Express Scribe, and Typist App
- Clinic Information EMR software
- Plug and Play scanner
- Canvas LMS
- Medical Transcription Level
- Webpage Design
- Manage Electronic Data
- Digital Communications
Start dates:
Fall, Winter, Spring semester (courses may run Monday to Friday between the hours of 8:00 am and 10:00pm)
Qualifications:
The successful applicant will have:
- Relevant educational qualifications in Office Administration Health Services or a closely related field (Diploma)
- Minimum five years of professional and relevant experience in the Medical Secretary/Support industry.
- Prior postsecondary teaching experience is preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge as noted above.
- Excellent communication and human relations skills and a commitment to diversity and equity are essential. Ability to work in an environment where a diversity of people and situations are encountered.
- Prior experience using technology (i.e. LMS, online teaching, etc.) is preferred.
- Ability to troubleshoot software and computer issues.
- Demonstrated commitment and understanding of human rights, equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) with the ability to communicate and work effectively with diverse groups of students, employees and the community.
Part time faculty positions are part of Mohawk College's response to the Calls to Action in Canada's Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) Report, and as part of our commitment to our Indigenous Education and Initiatives Plan, preference will be given to Indigenous Peoples or Peoples of Turtle Island, including those who identify as First Nations (status or non-status), Metis & Inuit.
