We are currently looking for a 8-12-month co-op student to join our Olympus Canada HR team in our (Richmond Hill, Ontario) office, starting in April 2024.

This is a full-time opportunity involving 40 hours per week.

As an HR Assistant, you will be working with all levels of the organization and Canadian business. You're an energetic and independent individual. You will be the first contact person for internal and external clients for the Olympus Canada Inc business. You will be delivering great employee experience across Canada by building interdepartmental relationships across Olympus North America.


Job Duties:

Some projects and duties during the co-op will include:

  • Manage the general HR inbox and HR mail.
  • Lead contract recruitment, including job posting, sourcing, resume screening and interviewing.
  • Manage all background checks for all job reqs.
  • Coordinate and support the new hire process, including new hire paperwork, organizing orientation sessions and quarterly events and build new hire welcome totes.
  • Manage the benefits and pension administration/enrolments.
  • Assist the HR Team with the implementation of HR programs, communications and or initiatives.
  • Participate in HR engagement projects and team committees like H&S.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • There will be travel at least twice a week into the Ontario office.

Job Qualifications:


Required:


  • Completing a postsecondary or graduate program in Human Resources, preferably in Industrial Relations/Employee Relations.
  • Positive attitude, reliable and strictest confidentiality.
  • Willingness to take initiative, research and provide solutions.
  • Exceptional with your interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Analytical with a strong attention to detail.
  • Adaptable with a quick learning capability.
  • Have experience with Microsoft Office suite (Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook).
  • Able to set priorities, take initiative and work with little direction.
  • Must be legally able to work in Canada already.
  • Ability to thrive in a fastpaced, dynamic and deadlinedriven environment.
  • Selfmotivated with the ability to prioritize/execute multiple concurrent tasks.
  • Strong, professional communication skills.
  • Skilled in presentation development and public speaking.
  • General curiosity and a desire to learn new material.
  • Contract length: 812 months.
