Volunteer Supervisor- Food Services for - Montréal, Canada - Federation CJA
Description
The "Food Services for Community" initiative " Café Soleil" is a collaboration between the JEM Workshop, Zera Café, Ometz and the Cummings Centre, which provides an inclusive community space providing socialization opportunities to diverse populations, through food services, resulting in the improved quality of life of participants.
It aims to:
- Address community food security issues by making healthy, kosher, affordable food available in a community environment;
- Address the isolation challenges of vulnerable populations (ie: seniors, lowincome adults and those with mobility issues) by offering a normalized environment in which individuals can socialize and feel welcome among peers and others;
- Increase awareness of the value and reducing the stigma of neurodiverse employment and demonstrating the abilities of neurodiverse employees;
- Create new volunteer opportunities for seniors and people of all ages
- Enhance the quality of life of seniors and neurodiverse adults;
Duties
- Support the ongoing recruitment and promotion of diverse, multigenerational, multicultural volunteers of all ages
- Creation of volunteer responsibilities and placement of volunteers
- With support from a crossagency professional team, responsible for onboarding of volunteers, including orientations and trainings
- On site supervision to volunteers
- Oversee daily volunteer operations (scheduling, handson training)
- Dissemination of materials
Education, Knowledge and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience
- Excellent communication skills
- Minimum 3 years relevant experience
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
- Excellent organizational and innovation skills
- Experience with the 50+ population and / or neurodiverse adults a strong asset
- Previous experience with volunteers an asset
- Strong computer competencies
