Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.
Position Overview:
The Manitoba Adolescent Treatment Centre embraces the goal of Jordan's Principle to ensure that youth have access to follow up mental health services.
This position will work closely with the Rural and Northern Telehealth Service, as well as other Jordan's Principle Initiative stakeholders.
Reporting to the Program Manager, the incumbent is responsible for the delivery of direct client service including individual, group and family therapy; the provision of ongoing communication with families, caregivers, and external resources regarding the treatment status and needs of clients; the coordination of resource planning and access with the client and family; the planning, implementing and evaluating of client/family treatment plans; and the establishment of professional working relationships within the inter-professional team and with community partners.
These functions are undertaken in accordance with the Manitoba Adolescent Treatment Centre's Mission Statement, organizational policies and procedures, and the Code of Ethics as outlined by the Canadian Association of Social Workers and Manitoba College of Social Workers.
Experience:
- Previous experience in a mental health setting required.
- Experience working with children & families, preferably in an interprofessional setting.
- Understanding and knowledge of the issues faced by urban First Nation clients and families.
- Knowledge of Jordan's Principle.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate):
- Bachelor of Social Work.
- Master's preferred.
Certification/Licensure/Registration:
- Required registration with MCSW/MIRSW.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Planning, implementation and evaluating of treatment plans for clients and families.
- Ability to gather information and promote the reintegration of client/family into the community.
- Ability to provide ongoing communication with families, caregivers and external resources regarding the treatment status of clients.
- Ability to provide individual counseling, group therapy and family therapy.
- Ability to work collaboratively within an interprofessional team.
- Ability to flex hours to meet the needs of clients and families.
- Skill in the following areas: clinical assessment, family therapy, systems intervention.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to travel a clean driver's abstract and access to a vehicle an asset.
