Circle Square Ranch Big Clear Lake
The Head Cook will plan menus, place food orders, and lead a team of young people in preparing daily

meals for groups of campers or retreat guests. Groups vary in size from people. Hours may be

irregular at times but will average 40 hrs per week. Weekend work is required. Like all staff, the head

cook will participate in the spiritual life of the camp through participation in staff devotions and summer

campfires, and may be asked to jump in to help with other planning or administrative tasks from time to

time.

Circle Square Ranch is a Christian camp, affiliated with Inter-Varsity Christian Fellowship of Canada.

InterVarsity works children, youth, and young people, helping them to discover Jesus and grow in faith.

Circle Square Ranch runs overnight camps for children in the summer months. Throughout the rest of

the year, the Ranch hosts church retreats, school groups, and other groups of Christian families and

young adults.

Key Outcomes:

High quality meals are prepared and served in a timely and costeffective manner.
Youth and young adults who are serving in the kitchen experience a positive, kind work

environment.

Qualifications:

Cooking and menu planning experience. (This can be in a household context. Professional chef

experience is not required).

Ability and experience in leading a group of people in completing a task.
Ability to manage a budget.
Ability to work with youth and young adults.
Ontario Food Handler certification is required before start date.
Ability to lift 20 kg
