What You'll Do
Ensure a high degree of processing accuracy, customer service, operational efficiency, and conformity to Bank policies and external regulations by:
- Train, develop, and supervise staff and the work they perform, ensuring trade booking issues are identified and corrected, and trades are confirmed accurately and correctly in a timely manner.
- Identify and implement opportunities for improvements in controls, customer service, productivity, and cost effectiveness.
- Manage resolution of operational problems, ensuring appropriate action is taken to prevent recurrence.
- Define operational and technology requirements, and coordinating with project teams to ensure requirements are met.
- Ensure risk inherent in the trade confirmation process is identified, understood and controlled
This includes:
- Ensure all trades are recognized by trade counterparties, economic terms of all transactions are affirmed, and all breaks are identified and resolved.
- Generate, review, and execute trade confirmations in accordance with Bank policy and industry standards.
- Review and approve confirmations prior to execution.
- Ensuring the Bank is reconciled with external electronic trade execution and affirmation/confirmation platforms and Central Counterparty Clearing Houses
- Train staff to minimize errors and maximize quality and adherence to policies and standards.
- Escalate and resolve issues.
- Develop and maintain relationships with customers, at both the operations staff and management levels.
- Ensure customer issues are identified, reported, escalated, and resolution is coordinated with internal stakeholders and relationship owners.
- Set goals, performance expectations and providing on-going performance feedback and coaching.
- Cross train staff to dynamically manage workloads across the operations.
Manage the OTC Confirmation Report control framework by:
- ensuring coverage for all reports is always in place.
What You'll Bring
- Extensive knowledge of Interest Rate and Equity OTC derivative products, structure of derivative transactions and the finance principles that underlie them.
- Extensive knowledge of ISDA Definitions
- 23 years people manager experience, preferably in confirmations department
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel
