The Opportunity


Working as a member of the shoring team, the Airtrac Driller is experienced in performing inspections and pre-trips to ensure the equipment is safe and stays in good condition.

They will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the hydraulic drill equipment.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Work safely on a construction site and promote a safe work environment adhering to safety policies and procedures including participation in safety meetings
  • Work with the Foreman and other team members to ensure services are located and ready for drilling, including setup of equipment and safety checks
  • Understand and have experience with various anchor bar assemblies
  • Ensure equipment has had pretrip checks (drill compressors and grout plants) and is setup correctly
  • Ability to take detailed and legible notes in drill log
  • Oversee drill helpers and team to ensure the drill is accurately set into place and the boom of the drill is aligned at the correct angle
  • Train other employees and maintain quality results of work
  • Support other crew members on daily site activities outside of job scope
Qualifications, Experience & Skillset

  • Experience and knowledge of shoring environments Understand drawings, specifications, and requirements
  • Review all BC1 call drawings and prelocate information with Foreman and drill helper
  • Experience locating and/or drilling near existing services and other manmade elements
  • Experienced in moving drill into position and making sure airlines and hydraulic lines are free and clear
  • Experienced with drilling in different soil conditions till, sand, fill, sandstones, etc.
  • Able to identify all hazards associated with various aspects of working in excavation/shoring projects, as well as correctly communicate safety issues as they arise
  • First aid, confined space, and fall protection training is an asset
  • Good communications ability, able to work with variety of individuals
  • Must be physically fit, able to spend most or all of shift standing, walking, lifting, carrying, and working handson in an outdoor environment in all types of weather
  • Flexible with hours worked, including overtime and weekend work as needed
  • Willingness to learn and have a good work ethic
