The Manager, Data, Analytics, Reporting & Evaluation (DARE) provides campus-wide leadership in the development, planning, implementation, and evaluation of significant and strategically important institutional initiatives.
This role will provide strategic support to the Equity & Inclusion Office with primary responsibility for the development and analysis of demographic and experiential data and its use to inform, track progress, and articulate outcomes of strategic plans as relates to promoting equity, diversity, inclusion (EDI) and anti-racism at UBC.
The Manager also provides consultative support to senior leadership, AVP, Equity & Inclusion, Deans, Associate Deans, and Directors across campus in the development, implementation, and evaluation of faculty/unit strategic plans.
The role requires strong leadership and management skills, coupled with strong data literacy, planning, and program evaluation skills to ensure the integrity of equity and antiracism initiatives across the institution.
The position will also work with the Associate Vice-President, Equity & Inclusion, other Directors, the leadership team, and EIO staff.
Organizational StatusReports to the Director, Institutional Initiatives.
The position supports and aligns university-wide strategic priorities as articulated in the institution's Strategic Equity & Antiracism (StEAR) framework, such as the Anti-Racism & Inclusive Excellence Taskforce Report recommendations, Dimensions Action Plan, Inclusion Action Plan, and the Employment Equity Plan, among others.
Overall, the position takes a capacity-building approach and provides consultation, process design, evaluation, and resource development to support the development and implementation of initiatives, policies, processes, and programs that support an inclusive environment at UBC.
Work PerformedInstitutional Data & Analysis
- Supports the Director, Institutional Initiatives, in leading the Planning & Evaluation portfolio of the Equity & Inclusion Office which provides strategic planning, data analysis/analytics, and evaluation support to decisionmakers and stakeholders (e.g. senior leadership, Deans, Directors, Associate Deans, and Directors) and acts as data trustee and steward for demographic data.
- Provides expertise and support to senior leadership on the development and implementation of an evaluation and assessment framework for equity and antiracism strategic plans. This includes central plans as well as facultyspecific and unitlevel plans.
- Identifies key research and evaluation needs to support strategic planning and decisionmaking; develops and implements investigative tools; develops statistical analyses and models to support decisionmaking and evaluate progress towards strategic objectives, tracking new research trends and developments; and presenting proposals to leadership.
- Coordinates the team's contributions to all stages of successful equity and antiracismrelated research and analysis including (as appropriate to the project): client consultation, research design, questionnaire design, survey programming/testing/monitoring, sample design/processing, data screening/checking/cleaning/coding/processing/analysis via statistical computer programming (SPSS syntax), database computer programming (SQL), report building (Tableau), etc.
