4Refuel is looking for a Technical Analyst, Low Carbon Fuels to join our growing team.


Job Summary:


Roles & Responsibilities:


  • Calculating and modelling CI pathways using relevant programs for potential regulatory approval/certification.
  • Explore and analyze carbon markets and regulations within BC-LCFS (British Columbia's Low Carbon Fuel Standard), CFR (Clean Fuel Regulations) and RFS (Renewable Fuel Standard).
  • Quantification of GHG emissions and reductions for projects and clients (with a focus on transportation).
  • Documenting GHG emissions projects.
  • Liaising with clients to manage the collection and organization of relevant GHG data.
  • Technical writing and reporting.
  • Develop tools and models to conduct fleetbased energy assessments.
  • Evaluate potential GHG solutions and technologies (with a focus on transportation).
  • Manage credit generation requirements and compliance obligations within Low Carbon Fuel Standards (LCFS, CFR, RINs) internally and commercially.
  • Support business development in conducting market analysis on commercial opportunities within the clean energy industry.
  • Develop and maintain complex models for renewable energy development projects in US and Canada.
  • Coordinate and lead research, analysis, development, and review of strategic policies and legislation related to climate action strategies.
  • Stay current with relevant federal economic opportunities (Canada/USA) in the Clean Energy sector, including fund tranches and incentive programs to leverage both internally and commercially for our customers.
  • Prepare presentations summarizing and accurately communicating findings of financial and CI modeling to senior management.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Experience & Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (engineering, applied sciences, finance/economics)
  • Minimum 15 years of working experience
  • Experience in alternative fuels and fuelswitching technology (e.g. BEV, NG, Hydrogen etc.)
  • Experience monitoring and measuring carbon emissions with a technical understanding of relevant and uptodate emission factors and carbon intensity (CI) data.
  • Knowledge and experience with renewable energy marketing, and environmental attributes (carbon credit) markets.
  • Experience modeling carbon intensity (CI) pathways for potential certification.
  • Applied knowledge and understanding of economic evaluation guidelines, costbenefit analyses, and economic impact analyses related to alternative energy opportunities.
  • Strong interest in climate change, decarbonization, and environmental issues.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel with confidence in interpreting scientific (GHG) related data and performing complex calculations.
  • Highly selfmotivated with a strong work ethic.
