At Taylor Autobody we are looking for a Damage Appraiser/Estimator. The right fit for this position is someone who provides outstanding customer service, is positive, upbeat, a great communicator.
Summary
Taylor Autobody Appraiser determines the cost to repair damaged vehicles by providing a detailed estimate including all applicable parts, labor and materials with supporting photos and documentation.
Good computer skills, and previous experience with computer estimating software guides as well as a knowledge of insurance policies and procedures is an asset.
Wage will be considered with qualifications and experience.
Estimates will be scheduled throughout the day; there will be times when estimates will be given on short/no notice, including internal dealership and customer pay requests.
Between estimates, the appraiser will assist with daily production requirements to meet deadlines, including pre/post scan of vehicle electronic systems, sublets and final quality checks for delivery.
Details
- Determining accident specifics to understand direction and extent of damage through customer and insurance communication.
- Assess damage and document required parts and labor; some disassembly may be required to access all hidden damage to be added to estimate. Reassemble for customer to drive until booking date.
- Document with quality photos, notes and PDF forms and attach to file.
- Follow appraisal guidelines as outlined in appraisal manual. Create the estimate.
- Perform diagnostic scan to determine if electrical systems were affected in the collision, research manufacture repair procedures.
- Submit estimate and documentation to insurance provider.
- Explain the estimate to the customer and set expectations for the repair. Hand off estimate and customer to front reception for scheduling.
- Attend to insurance supplement requests as soon as possible, making notes to file.
- Provide VW warranty estimates with necessary photos, paint measurements. Enter into VW Hub for approval.
- Provide Toyota/Lexus warranty estimates including supporting photos for service department approvals.
- Assist production with daily tasks including moving vehicles, sublet for repair, post scans and final inspections for delivery.
- Test drive to verify all systems are operating properly.
- I-CAR training is mandatory with a minimum 6 hours/ year after Platinum Estimator status is achieved.
- Hourly/salary range 48,000 to 62000/year
