Summary:


DMC is currently looking for a Human Resources Business Partner to join our team on a permanent basis in our Vaughan, Ontario Office.

The HR Business Partner will provide consultation and service to multiple client groups in the areas of employee relations, talent acquisition, performance management, training and development, compensation, benefits and policy compliance.

Ability to navigate a highly dynamic environment with a keen sense of urgency, follow up and changing priorities will be the key to success in this role.

Reporting to the Manager, Human Resources, the HR Business Partner will support corporate HR project development, training, and roll-out.


Responsibilities:


  • Partners with client groups to understand and address business issues, while leveraging opportunities to develop strategic HR initiatives.
  • Establishes strong relationships and provide consultation to leaders and employees to multiple client groups in the areas such as: talent management, workforce/succession planning, employee relations, employee engagement, performance/bonus objectives and compensation & benefits (Canada and USA)
  • Works with assigned client groups to identify and plan for HR requirements to meet short
- and long-term business requirements.

  • Supports corporate special projects, including HR project development, training, and rollout.
  • Manages the fullcycle recruitment process for assigned roles, including sourcing, prescreening, interviewing, extending offers and conducting onboarding.
  • Investigates, manages, and mitigates potential risk with disciplinary employee related issues.
  • Manages and prepares necessary documentation (promotions, transfers, relocations, leaves, terminations, etc.).
  • Acts as first point of contact responding to inquiries and handling concerns in a timely manner.
  • Develops and implements training programs.
  • Drafts and updates corporate policies.
  • Facilitate change management efforts to support client groups with transforming HR processes with ongoing digital transformation initiatives; executes HR sub projects; and participates in focus groups when required
  • Other related duties, as may be assigned.

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field.
  • 5+ years of professional HR Generalist experience, preferably in a technical midsize company.
  • Experience in startup or entrepreneurial environments is an asset.
  • Excellent resourcefulness and critical thinking skills are required.
  • Solid technical human resources experience in a variety of functional areas (employee relations, recruitment, policies and procedures development, compliance, compensation, benefits, RRSP, etc.).
  • Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) or Leader (CHRL) designation is an asset.
  • Knowledge of Human Resources practices and principles, as well as all applicable legislation, including but not limited to, Human Rights Code, Employment Standards Act, and Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act.
  • Solid business acumen to align both business objectives and HR strategies with corporate goals.
  • Excellent organizational, followthrough, and workload planning skills with the ability to juggle multiple priorities while adhering to either hard or soft deadlines.
  • Effective, clear, and precise verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong team player, customer service orientated with effective problemsolving abilities.
  • Intermediate computer skills with the Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS.
  • Experience working within the Mining, Heavy Construction or Engineering sectors is an asset.
