The HR Business Partner is a standalone position responsible for delivering on day-to-day core HR processes while providing direct support to on-site and remote managers and employees with all HR related matters.

YOUR IMPACT

  • This is a standalone position providing a full range of operational HR support to leadership team, frontline managers, and employees in assigned client group.
  • You will process all employee lifecycle changes following established HR processes and procedures, including drafting employment agreements for new hires and promotions.
  • You will process employee lifecycle changes in HRIS (UltiPro/UKG Pro) and generates reports as required
  • Meets regularly with business unit leaders and provides guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce planning and succession planning.
  • You will provide direction and support to location managers with regards to employee relations, and performance management issues; escalates to Senior Manager, Human Resources when necessary
  • You will consult with the Senior Manager, Human Resources, and legal counsel on complex/escalated HR issues.
  • Respond, manage, and follow up on all employee inquires.
  • You will collaborate with Wellness team on corporate wellness program initiatives and activities
  • You will provide HR policy guidance and interpretation, assisting in the drafting and updating of HR policies and procedures including the Employee Handbook & Policy Manual.
  • Work with third party vendor to manage nonoccupational/disability leaves and facilitate the returntowork process
  • Coordinate the annual performance and salary review processes for assigned client group.
  • Maintains the integrity of established salary ranges, updates salary ranges, and performs regular market compensation analysis.
  • In partnership with line managers, develops and updates position scorecards and assists with making compensation recommendations as needed.
  • Partner with HR team and managers to develop engagement strategies and action plans
  • Participate in Occupational Health & Safety activities to ensure compliance and participates as a member of the Joint
  • Health & Safety Committee

WHAT TO EXPECT

30 Days:

  • Conduct 1on1 "getting to know you" meetings with all leaders in client group and members of the Human Resources team
  • Have a sound understanding of the Corporate HR Strategy and objectives
  • Complete Introduction to UltiPro/UKG Pro Canada and Employee Administration training courses
  • Review and understand all Company policies and procedures

60 Days:

  • Support the roll out and transition to a new employee benefits plan
  • Participate as a member of the project team to implement a new employee surveying tool (UKG Voice)

90 Days:

  • Complete training courses on additional UltiPro/UKG Pro modules (recruitment, onboarding, talent management, reporting/business intelligence)
  • Complete all required items in the New Employee Onboarding (NEO) program

THIS IS YOU

  • Postsecondary education relating to Human Resources and/or Business Administration
  • 35 years' progressive experience in a Human Resources Generalist capacity
  • Experience working as a solo onsite HR practitioner preferred
  • Experience administering a Human Resources Information System (HRIS); UltiPro/UKG Pro preferred
  • Access to a vehicle and a valid driver's license are required for occasional travel to satellite office in Woodbridge, ON
  • Experience working and thriving in a rapidly changing environment
  • CHRP or CHRL designation considered an asset
  • Joint Health & Safety certification is considered an asset

THIS IS NICE
