About the Position:

This role involves spearheading the growth of ALS Metallurgy's business by actively engaging both new and existing clients, thus expanding ALS' market presence.

Your duties will include aiding clients in accessing information on ALS services and pricing, as well as guaranteeing efficient and accurate service delivery and communication.

Business Development Responsibilities:


  • Lead projects involving the following tasks:
  • Engage potential clients to raise awareness of ALS services;
  • Exploit business prospects in the market and generate new projects;
  • Handle client service engagement through calls and visits;
  • Represent ALS Metallurgy at key industry events and gatherings;
  • Organize client tours and ALS activities during conventions
  • Serve as the primary contact for new clients regarding their inquiries and issues.
  • Support in annual marketing contract renewals and oversee client workflow.

Client Services Responsibilities:


  • Deliver superb client service by providing information on testing capabilities, quality assurance, and turnaround times.
  • Maintain proactive, positive, and prompt communications with clients.
  • Reach out to clients upon receiving new assignments and in case of work delays.
  • Follow up with clients post-project completion for feedback and potential future collaborations.
  • Advocate for clients within ALS, monitoring priorities and turnaround times.
  • Address client issues, sustain communication, and conduct investigations when necessary.
  • Provide technical guidance on quality control concerns and other client-related matters.
  • Keep client details and needs updated in the database.
  • Compile weekly sales reports, participate in project meetings regularly, in-person or virtually.
  • Adhere to established procedures and schedules to ensure analytical precision.

Required Qualifications:


  • Degree or Diploma in a relevant Engineering field related to mining or mineral processing;
  • Strong background in metallurgy is preferred;
  • Prior work experience in a laboratory, consulting, plant design, or mining environment;
  • Possession of a valid Provincial Class 5 driver's license with a clean driving record.
