The Information Systems Security Analyst will be a member of the IT Security Group within the Information and Communication Systems (ICS) Section.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture.
  • Performing security vulnerability assessments and penetration testing for systems/networks;
  • Investigating the security of naval systems, identifying vulnerabilities, and proposing mitigation measures to address vulnerabilities;
  • Assessing, evaluating and implementing security controls (NIST 80053/53A, NIST80082, ITSG33);
  • Preparing test plans, scenarios and test scripts for use in security analysis, evaluation and penetration testing;
  • Performing security testing in a lab environment or on deployed systems;
  • Physical onsite assessments and testing (when required);
  • Continually reviewing and enhancing existing knowledge of threat analysis and investigations of common tools and technologies; and
  • Preparing technical reports in English on the results of tests and investigations.

Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:

  • Theoretical and technical understanding of computer security, software security, systems security and network security;
  • Experience in conducting vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, as part of security engineering validation in support of overall vulnerability management processes;
  • Experience planning, leading and executing engagements, and working with clients throughout the engagement life cycle
  • Experience with DND systems and networks, and/or with the Navy or marine environment, would be an asset; and
  • Recognized IT Security certifications (e.g. CISSP, CISA and/or CISM) would be highly desirable, and a penetration testing certification (e.g. OSCP) would be an asset.
