OVERVIEW:


The Director of Financial Planning & Reporting is a senior member of Finance Division responsible for providing leadership and direction to the FRP&A department that supports the reporting, forecasting, planning and analytical functions within the Finance Division.


RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Creating and updating financial models and forecasts.
  • Collaborating with accounting team to ensure accurate financial data.
  • Collaborating with other departments to align financial plans with business objectives.
  • Leading the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, ensuring accuracy and providing analysis on variances and trends.
  • Developing and overseeing the financial planning process, including longterm forecasting, annual budgets, and rolling forecasts.
  • Collaborating with senior leadership to define and measure key performance indicators (KPIs) that align with the company's strategic goals.
  • Partnering with crossfunctional teams to ensure alignment between financial plans and operational goals and objectives.
  • Enhancing financial systems and processes to improve forecasting accuracy, reporting efficiency, and datadriven decisionmaking.
  • Working closely with CFO in preparing various Board and Audit Committee reports.
  • Presenting financial analysis and recommendations to senior management.
  • Assisting Controller with the overall management of the external audit, including preparation of annual audited financials and notes disclosures.
  • Managing the FP&R team, including hiring, training, and professional development to build a highperforming team.
  • Performing other related duties and or special projects as requested by CFO.

QUALIFICATIONS:


Education

  • Bachelor's degree in finance/ accounting or equivalent
  • CPA designation.
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian Accounting Standards.

Experience

  • 6+ years of relevant accounting and financial reporting experience at senior level.
  • Experience in managing remote teams.

Skills

  • Proactive team player, problem solver and strong people leader.
  • Strong interpersonal skills are needed to interact and work with various departments and across many different levels within the organization and with external parties.
  • Excellent communication skills (both written & oral)
  • Strong presentation development (Excel, Power Point, Word) and delivery.
  • Advanced Excel proficiency.
  • Strong analytical, planning and organization skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a multimatrix environment and deal with competing priorities.
  • Proven resiliency and tenacity to perform well under pressure and regularly meet strict deadlines in a fastpaced and transformational environment.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Flexible working hours with different peak seasons.
  • Some overtime required periodically.
  • Occasional travel to head office in Toronto.
