Description
The Continuing Education department of Champlain College Saint-Lambert requires the services of an HOURLY INSTRUCTOR to teach the course of ROLE OF THE SPECIAL CARE COUNSELLOR LA).


This course introduces students to the profession of Special Care Counselling and to community resources and services utilized by the profession.

Students will investigate the functions of the special care counsellor (SCC) and explore how the role of the SCC differs from professionals in related fields.

They analyze requests for services with reference to relevant laws and the mission or mandate of institutions and community organizations.

They also explore ethical issues around the role of the SCC.


Required Qualifications:

Must have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related discipline and 2 years teaching experience.
Teaching experience in special care counselling or a related program is an asset.
Experience working with diverse client groups in the special care counselling field is strongly recommended.
This course is taught in English; proficiency in English is required.
