Position Overview:


Under the direction of the Clinical Manager(s), and in collaboration with the Clinical Educator, the Clinical Practice Facilitator (CPF) is responsible for providing clinical expertise, guidance, mentoring, and support to nurses and support staff who are new to the Emergency Department.

The incumbent serves as a positive role model of excellence in professional practice, demonstrating a positive attitude and a commitment to the vision, values, and goals of the unit/facility/region, and promoting an interdisciplinary, patient-centered approach to care based on best available research evidence.

The incumbent fosters growth of the new staff member within an effective mentoring relationship while supporting self-learning objectives.


Experience:


  • A minimum of three (3) years current ED clinical experience is required
  • Completion of Triage training (Level 4 or equivalent) is required
  • Demonstrated clinical competence required
  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal communication skills required
  • Recent experience as a preceptor preferred
  • Canadian Emergency Nursing Certification (ENC(C)) preferred

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate):


  • Graduate from an approved School of Nursing required
  • Bachelor of Nursing Degree preferred
  • Successful completion of a recognized course in adult education principles and strategies is an asset

Certification/Licensure/Registration:


  • Responsible to maintain and provide proof of active registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM)
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training requirements for this position shall be in accordance with the WRHA policy

  • Moderate to heavy physical effort required
