Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Building Operator, Level 3 is an entry or junior level building operator responsible for operational and technical support.

The Building Operator is responsible for assisting with installations, repairs and maintenance and supporting the mechanical systems within the property.

The primary objective of the Building Operator, Level 3 is to ensure that the retail centre is being managed and maintained in a safe and environmentally responsible manner and to the highest level of operational efficiency.

Responsibilities:

Support preventative maintenance and unscheduled repairs of HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, lighting, electrical, elevating devices, roofing and life safety systems
Assist with general maintenance including painting, minor drywall and concrete repairs, sanding, caulking and overall housekeeping such as sweeping, litter pick up, shoveling and pressure washing
Assist the Operations Manager with environmental assessments and reporting
Participate in corporate Occupational Health and Safety program
Assist with managing waste, recycling and hazardous materials issues;
Monitor computerized control systems within the centre
Respond to tenant service and maintenance requests in a timely manner
Assist with insurance and risk management inspections, remedial actions and reporting
Remain current and up to date with new industry practices, legislative changes and new technologies
Other related duties as assigned

Experience and Qualifications:

12 years' related maintenance experience
Valid driver's license
Excellent customer service skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Intermediate skill level in Microsoft Office Suite
Strong initiative and team work skills
