Warehouse Manager - Mississauga, Canada - Priority Logistics
Description
Job Duties include:
- Plan and schedule all distribution services including receiving, storing, shipping, handling returned/damaged goods, maintenance, to ensure customer requirements are met in an efficient manner
- Prepare, maintain, and communicate all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and ensure they are adhered to.
- Provide leadership and direction through coaching, mentoring, and developing direct reports; establish annual performance objectives, conduct performance assessments, and identify opportunities for skill development
- Ensure warehouse management system's procedures are adhered to and the WMS is functioning optimally
- Manage budget and workforce productivity
- Plan long range labor requirements based on sales forecasts and input from direct reports
- Monitor the space layout plan to ensure it continues to meet company standards
- Ensure cleanliness of building and scheduled maintenance is performed in a timely manner and property
- Comply with all ESA and OHSA regulations to ensure the safety of all personnel, equipment,
- Ensure all Forklift Equipment is in good working order and all preventive maintenance is being done
- Support all direct reports, ensuring staff have adequate training, assisting with issues and serving as a point of escalation
- Develop Supervisors and employees through evaluation of their performance, providing pinpointed feedback and subsequently providing coaching and guidance
- Ensure exceptional relationships and communication with cross functional teams
- Effectively counsel and manage employees on attendance, performance, and/or misconduct
- Audits various paperwork and postings for accuracy and compliance with company policies
- Must be able to post job ads for warehouse staff, interview, and hire as necessary.
- Generate loading reports which summarizes how much loading was done in the day. Also, work on improving these numbers on a weekly basis.
- Performs other duties as required
Your skills & Experience
- 35 years of experience leading teams, developing talent, and managing culture and performance
- Ideal to have leadership experience in transportation or operations as well as various roles in transportation
- Computer skills including the Microsoft Suite and preferably, AS400
- A strong sense of customer service and urgency, troubleshooting and problemsolving skills
- Must understand rail containers but not limited to; 53', 40', road trailers, with/without heater units.
- Knowledgeable on weight distribution on containers that can go on the rail.
- Must know the difference between tandem, triaxle equipment and their weight restrictions.
- Ability to load plan from WMS using skid count, weights, and cubic footage prior to freight landing on dock
- Experience in forklift certification and inspection, hazmat certification, operating various warehouse equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, stock pickers, etc.)
Salary:
$55,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
