Recreation Program Leader:

4-10 hours per week
SALARY:
$ $29.46 per hour
plus 12% in lieu of benefits (2024 rates)
Successful applicants will possess the following:
- Current Emergency First Aid and CPR C Certificate.
- Exceptional communication and customer service skills.
- Experience working with children in a community recreation setting.
- Flexible schedule including some weekend work.
- Ability to successfully pass and maintain a clear Police Information Check including Vulnerable Sector Check.
Desired Assets:
- Community recreation program leadership experience is preferred.
- Certifications related to program development and implementation.
- Experience supervising children at off site locations or in a child minding setting.
- Experience working with children with a variety of support needs.
- Experience in specialized instructional skill in visual arts or performing arts.
- Experience in teaching sports, science, or cooking.
- Courses in recreation or a related field, supplemented by experience in children's programming.
Duties Include:
- Provide program leadership to children in a safe, positive, fun manner.
- Plan, lead and implement developmentally appropriate recreation programs for children.
- Liaise with parents and members of the community.
