Description:

The Chief Digital Officer (CDO) on behalf of the Department of Fisheries and Oceans (DFO) and Canadian Coast Guard (CCG) requires the services of IT Help Desk Specialists on an as and when required basis to support DFO employees with different IT equipment related tasks.


These tasks fall into two groups:

  • The first (including but not limited to): onsite equipment disconnection, connection, relocation and installation, for both computer and audio/visual (A/V) equipment in DFO/Canadian Coast Guard (CCG) premises.
  • The second: IT Help Desk technical support and/or laptop and/or mobile device preparation/maintenance services for DFO/CCG employees.


The objective is to ensure that new and existing IM/IT products and services adhere to Chief Digital Officer Sector (CDOS) service provision, support and maintenance quality specifications and standards.


MANDATORY QUALIFICATIONS:

***The IT Help Desk Specialists must have the following skills and experience:

  • Language(s): Fluently Bilingual (French/English)
  • Security Clearance: Valid Secret (Level II)


Level - Applicant must demonstrate six (6) months of experience within the last 60 months providing installation of physical IT equipment.


Level - Applicant must demonstrate a minimum of twelve (12) months of experience within the last 60 months providing IT support services working in a Service Desk, Help Desk or Call Centre.


  • Applicant must demonstrate a minimum of twelve (12) months of experience within the last 60 months providing IT support on all of the following products and services:
  • Microsoft Office Suites (on premise or cloud acceptable), must include Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Remote Access services
  • Microsoft Windows operating systems
  • Applicant must demonstrate a minimum of twelve (12) months of experience within the last 60 months providing direct IT support to endusers by conducting all of the following activities:
  • Discussing issues/problems and gathering and documenting key and pertinent information associated to client requests.
  • Providing clients with appropriate and effective information/feedback associated to their requests.
