About the Role:


As a Business Lead you play an integral role as the key client relationship-builder and business partner to The Garden's clients, while working closely with both the strategic and creative teams to explore and uncover creative solutions to client business challenges.

Beyond leading the day-to-day relationship, you will also be tasked with creating the conditions for true client partnership.


A Project Lead is generally assigned to each project/client and will work with you to manage the day-to-day details and workflow of each project through to completion.

You will be responsible for overseeing the Project Lead's work, providing coaching and mentorship to develop their skills as needed.

You will also be tasked with overall business management of your assigned clients. This includes project planning, resource allocation and overall financial management.


Primary Responsibilities:


  • Establish and maintain a relationship of trust with a portfolio of clients by understanding their needs and expectations, with the ultimate goal of identifying the criteria for success and actively contributing to it;
  • Maintain regular contact with clients to develop and nurture strong relationships;
  • Fully understand all aspects of the clients' business, industry and key competitors;
  • Create project plans, identify resource needs and develop Statements of Work (including applicable fees) for all client projects;
  • Ensure tight fiscal management of account expenditures and profitability of client business; manage financial forecasting and margin/revenue recognition;
  • Creative problem solving and sourcing/identifying of partners to transform ideas into action plans where required;
  • Oversee and support Project Lead with project financials, processing client invoices, vendor payments with the Finance team and overall budget reconciliation by project;
  • Lead and maintain high quality assurance for all projects;
  • Oversee Project Managers throughout all phases of production;
  • Provide mentorship for Project Managers and identify key opportunities for professional development (if applicable);
  • Take an active role in building a positive work environment and culture;
Actively seek out opportunities for organic growth with existing clients, transforming them into new projects.


Required Skills:


  • 8+ years experience working in a client services and/or project management role;
  • Exceptional interpersonal, leadership and communication skills;
  • A natural problem solver, proactive in identifying issues and opportunities and recommending actionable solutions;
  • Comfortable engaging with and presenting to client teams, gaining their confidence and trust;
  • Superior organizational and time management skills with a strong attention to detail;
  • Proven ability to forecast project resourcing needs and manage financials;
  • Creative thinker able to look beyond the traditional and expected solutions to find unique opportunities to deliver on client mandates;
  • Collaborative and motivating, helping to inspire the team to produce great work and effectively troubleshoot challenges as they arise;
  • Levelheaded; calm and composed under pressure, focused on achieving the end goal;
  • Flexible with the ability to multitask and keep several balls in the air without breaking a sweat;
A genuine interest in current trends, advertising, brands, design and the marketing world in general.
