Job Title:
RESIDENTIAL SUPPORT WORKER**
Program: COMMUNITY LIVING RESIDENTIAL PROGRAMS (Mundy)

Classification:
STANDARD GRID LEVEL 10


Rate of Pay:
$27.29 per hour; increments as per Collective Agreement


JOB SUMMARY:

To provide quality person centered service for individuals with developmental disabilities including direct support,
planning, training and activities and to facilitate the development of appropriate opportunities.


QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Minimum Diploma in the human services field and at least one year recent experience working with people
who have developmental disabilities or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience

  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities in a group or 1:1 setting; strong community living values
and good organizational skills are a must

  • Demonstrated strong knowledge/training in behavior approach and experience working with individuals with
challenging behaviors, mobility impairments and alternate communications systems

  • Previous experience in the role of Key Worker in a residential setting
  • Good interpersonal skills to work with a wide range of clients and teams including conflict management and
resolution skills

  • Prior knowledge and training in use of mechanical lifts and ability to perform lifts and transfers up to 40lbs.
  • Willingness and interest in participating and supporting residents in home and community activities based on
individual's interests and needs

  • Responsiveness and sensitivity to the needs of persons with disabilities
  • Demonstrated ability and commitment to working effectively with diverse populations
  • Ability to work in cooperation with families and external support services
  • Knowledge and experience in providing residents with nutritional assistance
  • Valid First Aid/CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention and FOODSAFE certification; Mandt System Training an
asset

  • Class 4 BC Restricted Driver's License; Reliable personal vehicle with business insurance and $3,000,000
third-party legal liability insurance is preferred

  • Working knowledge of Windows operating system and MS Word; familiarity with an electronic case
management system is preferred

  • Successful Criminal Record Check
  • Medical certificate of health and immunization record

PRESENT HOURS OF WORK:
This is a casual/on-call position; start and finish times may vary and flexibility with
hours of work is required to meet client and program needs as determined by the Program Coordinator.

safety of the persons served and colleagues, we prefer that staff working in this program are fully vaccinated for
COVID-19. Proof of vaccination status may be required for successful applicants for this position.
