Responsibilities o Apprentice Plumber:

Receives direction as to scope of work from Foreman or Lead hand
Ensure they work under the direction of a Journeyman/Foreman to transfer knowledge and be able to complete the Certificate of Qualification.
Responsible for drainage, waste and venting systems, fixtures and appliances
Works with different types of piping such as black carbon or steel, plastic, glass or pyrex, copper
Reads and interprets blueprints, drawings and specifications
Determines layout of systems and networks
Installs, repairs and maintains plumbing fixtures and systems
Locates and marks position of pipe connections, holes and fixtures
Cuts holes to accommodate pipes and fittings
Measures, cuts, bends and threads pipes in place
Joins pipes with couplings, clamps, screws, bolts or cement
Solder or braze piping
Inspect and test pipes for leaks
Determines piping system requirements and pipe sizing
Abides by all safety procedures and policies

The ideal Apprentice Plumber will have:

Certificates: Working at Heights, Aerial Platforms, Confine Space or any other certifications considered an asset
Valid Ontario's Driver's License
Own basic hand tools and safety shoes
Good command of the English language
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent work ethics and reliability
