Summary of responsibilities:


Reporting to the Manager, New Technology Introduction, the Advisor, New Technology Introduction (NTI) Program is responsible for delivering Pre-board Screening (PBS) and Hold-baggage Screening (HBS) new screening technology introduction projects and activities in support of CATSA's operational and capital project plans.

The incumbent is responsible for coordinating all deliverables and tasks related to the introduction, certification and operation of new screening technologies at airports across Canada.

The Advisor, NTI Program performs all other duties and responsibilities related to the position as required.


What you need to succeed

To qualify for the position, you must have:

  • Graduation from a recognized college or university with a specialization in Engineering, Computer Science, Technology or another specialty relevant to the duties of the position;
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience working in a technical field with handon experience troubleshooting and resolving technical issues;
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience collaborating with internal or external stakeholders in a technical field;
  • Experience presenting to various audiences and producing reports for senior management;
  • Experience coordinating projects and programs, as well as the work of crossfunctional teams.

This position is best suited to individuals with the following skills and abilities:

  • Ability to clearly articulate point of view to various audiences; liaise effectively;
  • Ability to analyze problematic situations and provide pragmatic, situation specific solutions;
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and develop strategies to resolve these issues;
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing;
  • Strong teamwork orientation;
  • Ability to work with and understand highly specialized technicians;
  • Ability to lead and engage others;
  • Ability to multitask and identify priorities; strong organizational skills;
  • Ease with learning new technologies.

Valuable skills include:


  • Experience with new technology product introduction;
  • Experience acting as lead or main point of contact for technical or certification testing;
  • Experience working in a highly regulated technical environment;
  • Knowledge of security screening technologies;
  • Experience in project management in a technical field and scheduling; knowledge of project management tools and methodologies;
  • Knowledge of Programming Logic Controller and related software
  • Project management certification;
  • Knowledge of CATSA's mandate and priorities, as well as an awareness of relevant legislation impacting the organization.

Specific work requirements

  • Ability to work overtime as required;
  • Ability to travel as required;
  • Language profile: English essential;
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance;
  • Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.
