SHINE Navigation Lead


Hours of Work:
Monday to Friday 8:30am to 4:30pm, 37.5 hours per week

Probationary period: 4 months

The
SHINE Navigation Lead provides housing navigation services, delivers Housing Navigator Training and assists the SHINE manager with data collection, podcast coordination and partnership management.


Salary range:
$48,750 to $50,700/year. A competitive benefits package will be offered after successful completion of four-month probation.


Key Responsibilities:


Housing Navigation:


  • Handle housing related inquiries for further case management needs after they are escalated from I&R specialist and assist homeless clients to access emergency shelter and support services.
  • Make referrals to internal and external resources as appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate records and data collection as required and prepare reports as requested.

Facilitation of Housing Navigator Training

  • Coordinate and facilitate two HNT sessions per year delivered virtually, covering Federal and Provincial programs/services for seniors, Elder Abuse awareness and Residential Tenancy Law.
  • Creation of course materials (i.e., posters on CANVA), securing guest speakers, managing registration process, and providing outcome reports for funders.

SHINE Program Coordination

  • Assist with program data collection, support for SHINE partners and reporting requirements for funders.
  • Coordinate monthly podcasts with preselected guest speakers (12 sessions per year for two years) and liaise with the external partner for recording sessions.
Other duties as assigned, based on operational needs.


Qualifications:


  • Post secondary education in social work, community social service, mental health, or gerontology. Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum one year experience working with those who are homeless, living with mental illness and/or addiction.
  • Workshop facilitation experience both inperson and virtually.
  • Ability to manage data using Excel spreadsheets or equivalent data tracking systems.
  • Non-Violent Crisis Intervention + First Aid an asset; Vulnerable sector CRC required.

Salary:
$48,750.00-$50,700.00 per year

  • French not required

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • New Westminster, BC V3M 1E6: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:

- with people homeless, mental illness, addiction: 1 year (preferred)


Licence/Certification:

  • Vulnerable sector CRC required. (required)
