Job Summary
The Quality Control (QC)


Inspector will report to the QC Supervisor and provide support and assistance in the production of the highest quality products in accordance with the requirements of company quality manuals, procedures, and work instructions.

This is a full-time position with a 12-hour continental night shift schedule (7:30pm - 7:30am, 7 shifts bi-weekly)

Principle Accountabilities

  • Competently use and operate all machinery and testing equipment as appropriate to the quality control of product and raw materials in the plant.
  • Start of run reviews and signoffs as required.
  • Measure, test, and visually inspect all products manufactured in accordance to company and external standards.
  • Recording of all relevant inspection information generated from carrying out daily inspection and tests on various QC forms.
  • Ensure that adequate written records are kept and maintained for all of the quality information generated internally.
  • Report and document deviations from the external or internal standards used by the company.
  • Carry out secondary checks on product in stock. Reinspect and document returned product for compliance adherence and review according to Company's standards.
  • Communicate any relevant information and occurrences to the next QC inspector during shift transitions.
  • Provide information and assistance to production personnel, supervisors, management and during plant audits and visits where required.

Requirements:


  • Completion of a High School diploma or practical equivalency.
  • Knowledge and understanding of quality control procedures, measuring skills and concepts in handling nonconforming product
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is an asset.
  • Must have basic math skills and digital literacy
  • First aid training and/or certification is a strong asset
  • Ability to work well independently with a keen attention to detail
  • Effective written and verbal communication

Working Conditions
Incumbent spends almost 100% of their time in a plant environment requiring varying degrees of considerable physical labour. Lifting, pulling, pushing heavy objects, standing and walking cover majority of work.

Personal safety is affected by exposure to heat, dust, noise levels and the use of equipment such as sharp blades and presses.

Moderate amount of sensory attention is required. Limited control of work pace and unexpected workflow brings moderate stresses to this position.
